A new bit of writing I finished a little while ago... kinda like this one :)

A Silent Spectator

I watch you like a ballgame, running up and down my mind

you win the game, i lose the race, a fate i dread to find

I hear the things you never say, the voice inside your heart

this voice that stirs is not for me, tho I wished for it to start

I smell the things that drive you wild, I know the scent you crave

yet I'm too ashamed to wear the oil, my heart i'd rather save

I know the touch that makes your skin dance, from your head to toe

But I can only touch you to a line and then I must let go

I see your heart upon your sleeve that you share without greed

yet the piece you share with me my friend is not the slice I need

I speak of you in hidden rhymes, my tribute to your kind

Yet you'll never read between those lines, the truth you'll never find

So I watch you like a ballgame, of a sport i'll never win

and i'll just follow from the sidelines and hold this love within
